6948 Corporal S F Taylor, South Staffordshire Regiment. He volunteered for service in South Africa during the Second Anglo Boer War. He served in the Volunteer Service Company of the 1st Battalion the South Staffordshire Regiment. He died of disease at Bloemfontein on 22 May 1900. He was buiried on 23 May 1900. He is also commemorated on the 1st Battalion South Staffordshire Regiment Boer War memorial in Lichfield Cathedral, The Close, Lichfield, Staffordshire, England (see: www.warmemorialsonline.org.uk/memorial/259228/ ).this link is from Ancestry via find a grave also warmemorialsonline
