I've taken the sketch of Dr. Davies from another post, The Welsh Hospital in South Africa www.angloboerwar.com/forum/11-research/1...in-south-africa-1900 , in order to make a dedicated thread on Dr. Davies, now that I've some photos of a memorial to him.

Below is the memorial in St Andrew's Church, Ashton-on-Ribble, Preston, Lancashire. The first mention I've seen of his being a surgeon.
