It is funny but on Tuesday I just finished proof reading a book on the Strathcona's is SA with a full chapter on the memorial at Lydenburg with a large number of pictures and newspaper clippings from when the memorial was dedicated.....

It is scheduled for publication in June 2017......

Hello Elmarie

This memorial is situated in the grounds of the Lydenburg Museum, along with various other artifacts, as such it is well protected and looked after.
The cemetery still had the metal crosses based on my last visit a few years ago and is relatively well managed.
