In Radley College Chapel, Oxfordshire.

Major General Sir Edward Robert Prevost Woodgate, K.C.M.G., C.B., 2nd King's Own (Royal Lancaster Regiment). Died at Mooi River on 23rd March 1900, from wounds received in action at Spion Kop on 23rd January 1900, aged 54.

The memorial window is diagonally above the college's ABW memorial.

Thanks, Adrian; what an unusual memorial/marker. Any idea if it's a fairly recent installation?

Came across this the other day - source National Library of Wales. It is undated but the collection it was in means it was almost certainly taken during the Boer War.

One of General Woodgate's tunics was made into an alter cloth, and used as such at All Saints Anglican Church, Murchison Street, Ladysmith.
By 1978 it had been placed under glass and mounted on the church wall above the ABW memorial.
It is embroidered along one edge: "E.R.P.W. / SPION KOP".

Following Woodgate's wounding and retrieval from the battlefield of Spion Kop, he was taken to receive the best medical care available at that time.
I have found a short update of his condition from the period which I post here as follows:

From the "Bromsgrove, Droitwich and Redditch Weekly Messenger," dated, Saturday, March 10th, 1900, page8:

"The British Medical Journal publishes a letter from MR. Reeves, consulting surgeon with the forces in South Africa, dated February 7, in which he says:"aI am sorry to say that General Woodgate is not progressing favourably, and is, indeed, losing strength. I had to remove the damaged eye. The General is free from pain, but he is seldom really conscious, although he recognizes his friends and answers a few questions."

General Woodgate's birthplace of Belbroughton in Worcestershire would come under the district of Bromsgrove.
