One I haven't come across before.
Photographed by A. Cecil Coyne, Pietermaritzburg.

"Trenches and Graves at Spion Kop - 13"

In the distance, it is just possible to make out a "trench" grave, with a cross and pile of stones at each end (see close-up). This appears to be the feature that Rob discusses HERE.

Another postcard of Spion Kop monuments, circa 1910.

The photograph posted by David in 2018 shows that little has changed, apart from the addition of two new memorials in the foreground (Welly Hyde's work?), and the repositioning of Lieutenant Trevor's stone on a different alignment. As Rob has mentioned before, all the grave surfaces have been raised (some with concrete capping).

A nice clean copy of the well-known medic's photograph, in the form of a magic lantern slide.
