TOPIC:

I visited the old cemetery on Boxing Day the 26/12/23 and placed a Christmas Cactus on the memorial.
Very regrettably the cemetery is looking rather tired.
My Great Grandfather Thomas WL Jenkins Trp 422 was KIA on the 4/3/1900 age 28.
His second son Bryan (my Grandfather) was 6 months old at the time of his death. Bryan died in Durban in 1987 aged 87.
Thomas WL Jenkins is commemorated on the ABW memorial in Cardiff.
Hunter, Smith and Jenkins were the only 3 troops of the FMR that were KIA during the whole war.
Thomas WL Jenkins as of Christmas 2023 is survived by 2 elderly Grandaughters living in South Africa.
