Gentlemen,
I think the poor man should be left alone, he should be allowed to RIP, in the past, there have been a number of attempts to remove him, at least one such, involved the use of explosives, in more recent times their government has made things clear on this matter.

Here are more recent views of those shown by David in his first post on his thread. The first shows Cape Town's Rhodes Memorial in its isolated position on the slopes of Devil's Peak. The second shows the extent of human settlement on the Cape Flats and would no doubt shock Rhodes if he were to be reincarnated.

Thank you for these Brett.

I hadn't know what the surroundings of the memorial looked like so these filled a grey area.

Many thanks

Brett,

Wonderful pics. They bring back such good memories. The round buildings below De Waal Drive are the UCT Res builings. Much fun had in this area over the years. I lived close to the next turn off which is Princess Ann taking you into Newlands.

Thanks for bringing back such fond memories.

There was a time when I also took that exit into Newlands. I lived in a cottage adjacent to the brewery, which was purely coincidental.
