Thank you David,

It is a most enjoyable forum to take part in, an important stat to the day :cheer:
I am pleased you like my "first Sunday of the month" as much as I do although this Sunday I will be saving funds due to work commitments :(

Cheers
Paul :)

djb wrote: Hello Paul,

May I add my congratulations and also thanks and appreciation for your support of the forum. We have all benefited from your active involvement to say nothing of all the photos you have uploaded and shared with us.

The first Sunday of the month is also now a day I look forward to!

The forum is nothing without its members and this forum is particularly fortunate to have the members it has.

With best wishes
David

Glad to see Erwin has escaped mention in your 1001 post, once a hun, always a hun!
Bottoms up Paul!

Thank you for the congratulations on reaching 1000 posts.
I joined the forum on 8th June 2011 so it is close to my 2nd anniversary.
I joined as a complete novice and hoped to gain some knowledge from the forum because I had just become interested in the ABW and made it my collecting theme.
In those two years I am amazed how much information and knowledge I have acquired mostly by asking questions and receiving boundless help from members willing to share their expertise.
Also from David's excellent website which I am still finding information from some sections for the first time!
I applaud the forum for being one of the friendliest around and not having the histrionics of some forums, but that is down to the members.
I could thank individuals who have been very helpful to me, some who have been very generous in words and deeds, but I will not, you know who you are.
Finally a big thank you to David for giving us this forum, long may it continue.
Here's to the next 1000

Paul :)

Paul (Coldstream),

Congratulations indeed. I've much enjoyed and appreciated your posts.

Though as a Grenadier, there may be some things we disagree about...

But as all the Brigade said then and say now - 'if you cut me in two, the blood's blue-red-blue'

All the best,

Justin

Okay Paul,
Is there anything you want to tell us about your Order of the Garter, is their any age to this particular example, officers of the Coldstream had superb forage cap stars a hundred years ago and many were actually passed down within the regt, the really old examples are rather like the actual Order itself in miniature.

Hello Frank,
I have had this example for a while now, an expert badge dealer an examination concluded it was pre WW1.
Kipling and King list it as "Officers 'Field cap: 1896-
I am just about to post some of my other badges, will add a link when done.
