Morning Brett,
I think you have shown this to me before, but, it is nice to see it once again, on here, where it can be seen by all interested parties, I told you then how much I liked it.
My own thoughts on the battlefield are simply that if you don't take it, someone else always will, moreover, if your friend had not picked them up, you would not have the pleasure of looking at them today, I do draw a line at acts of desecration though, but, you know very well yourself that there were, well into the 1970's, many relics that could be found on the surface, quite without anything other than a brief inspection of the ground at ones feet.
They are and will always remain tangible links with those momentous days.
Kind regards Frank

Good Afternoon Everyone.....

I was given this by a gentleman that used to live in South Africa and he when he was over there on holidays about 35 years ago he found this at or near the battle site of Paardeberg as he knew that I was interested in the Canadian involvement he told me he pocketed it hoping that no one has seen him do it...... I told him after he had given it to me that I am sure that no one would have minded.....

Not a great picture sorry, still learning Windows 10......
