Im a bit late joining this thread but have only just found it.

Lovely bit of research thanks.

The FFW Vetter of the BMR mentioned above was my father in laws Grandfather & I have his BMR medal sitting in front of me as I type this. I also have his QSA as trooper 2240 Natal Police and his war & victory medals from WW1 where despite his German heritage he joined the 4th South African Horse.

Thank you for this information. It makes interesting reading. The late August Borchard and J. Dehrmann were my Great Uncles.
