The catalogue description does not give its size

"Boer War related H.M.S. Terrible small wooden barrel with brass plaque which reads "From the teak of HMS Terrible whose guns relieved Ladysmith" - has some damage to the rim."

Hi David...…

The size of the one that I have is just under 5 inches tall and 3 1/4 inches across..... These show up on eBay quite often...…

David, Mike
These mementos are occasionally seen in a couple of forms; I seem to recall seeing candle holders and a couple of sizes of barrels. The illustrated little barrel - a match holder?- (about 67mm high) - was hard to resist when spotted on a favourite on-line auction site about fifteen years ago. Even today, examples are not all that expensive.
Regards
IL.
