Yes, looking at the letter "E" in the other words, that is all it really can be, that is now the third time I've just sat there looking at it! :blush: I wonder what the original sender and the recipient would think if they could see us all now? :)

Here is one for you, this one posted on 14th march 1908, presumably the damage had been repaired by then, I wonder if "Caster and Pollux" are still there?

The Pietermaritzburg Repository of the SA National Archives has two files relevant to the writer of this postcard:

1896 - Oliver Ripton Daniel was in a legal dispute with another man.

1917 - O Ripton Daniel applied for a prospecting permit.
