Yes, that's correct. The QSA rolls are on microfilm at TNA. WO100/226 is the roll containing the civil surgeons. The entry I found was on page 81. His entry is the very last one on the page.

I tried different combinations of his surname but failed to find any more matches.

The same information is available on ancestry.co.uk.
