Thank you for the additional information Rory and Linneyl, I have added to his file, my research is lacking in many areas and is focused more on the medal rolls and details published. Only a few of my medals have biographical detail, but it is a steady task to add to the "man behind the medal"
Frank, I have checked WO126 and it is also written on the top left corner of his Attestation Paper "Disch Med Unfit 4 12/99"
I checked all the papers I have and all the dates are as given. So where was he between December 1899 and May 1901? Did he serve elsewhere and earn the clasps and this was not noted. I doubt it very much, I think it is merely a clerical error awarding him these clasps, given the size of T.M.I. one must ask how well were the authorities able to confirm each and every ones entitlement when compiling the medal rolls within unit lines.
Medal issued from T.M.I. roll with 68/SA/7516, perhaps this will explain the reason, but how does one find this reference?
Brett, we have a lunch date on 28th May at Shunters, will bring along a couple of items to show, amongst them last years Comrades Bronze Medal
Thank You All for your comments
