Can anyone help me with further details on the attack at Brakspruit 13 Nov 1901?

My great uncle Malcolm McLeod no. 32714 was a trooper in 107th Coy, 6th Bn Imperial Yeomanry, killed at or died from wounds received at Brakspruit. I would like to learn more of the details of his service, the action at Brakspruit, his death and the site of his grave, if anyone can help.
I have found the reference to the action at Brakspruit in samilitaryhistory.org/vol141sw.html (currently offline).
But maybe there are other references such as a battalion diary that could provide more details?

Two of his brothers were later killed in WW1 and I have found a good bit of information about the actions they died in, so it is rather sad not to know more about Malcolm's passing.

Any tips or information very gratefully received!

Thank you, Elmarie,
That is a very poignant picture to receive and very good to know where he lies.
Do you know whether he has an individual grave in the cemetery, or if he was buried in an unmarked/shared grave?
Kind regards,
Charles

Hello Charles

The references used in that article will be about as good as you get for describing the action. You could try local newspapers to see if a letter was written by an eyewitness to the action.

Thanks, Meurig
I was hoping that there'd be a Battalion/Regimental diary. I've found those absolutely invaluable for WW1 research. But I have a feeling the diaries first really started in WW1.
Kind regards
Charles

Correct. If there were any guns involved I have the war diaries of the RFA, RHA & RGA - "Digests of Service", but I don't think they were.
