I know but I think he might have been in the suffolk yeomanry as they had raised essex troop that were sent to wivenhoe as an artillery troop .but he has what appears to be horses for collar dogs and that is what has thrown me.but apparently the family nickname was dacker not sure of spelling but apparently had something to do with horses

I am trying to decipher that collar badge. I don't think it is either the Suffolk Yeomanry or the Essex Regiment.

Is there any chance of a clearer picture of the badge?
