WO126 is available whilst at Kew, you would need to place an order for any extant paper and present yourself in their reading room.

I should have added, that to be quite honest, unless you are actually in London for a day or two anyway, it is far more cost effective to simply have someone with a reader ticket make a copy of any paper for you.

Could someone tell me how many of the signing up forms are still in existence.I see that Ancestry have free access to war records this weekend and as I am still looking for information for my research I decided to have a look.Unfortunately I have been unable to trace any papers for my relative.I understand that a lot of WW1 records were destroyed in a fire and this may be the case with Boer War records also.Well I may have been unlucky this time but if any other researcher is looking for information maybe they can make use of the free access on Ancestry.

Suray,

I am not any one knows exactly how many forms were destroyed. You can search the index from FindMyPast for free and that will show if service papers exist for the recipient.
