Can anyone identify the photo found. One soldier has MR on slouch hat.

Some mounted unit but MR is too generic for a local unit.

Can you post a blow up of the MR badge from the original photo. ? I know that Owen's book has a badge with MR in a wreath which is down as Maritzburg Rifles.

I have had this problem of trying to identify units from badges and titles in old photos. I am sorry to say that I have had scant success over the years.
Lets see what better focus will do.
