In the case of the Brutish Army the next of kin are normally identified upon a particular individuals papers, so you can take a detailed look at them further if you wish to.

Thank you so much, Frank, for taking the time and trouble to reply to me.

I have my grandfather's "Short Service (Army Form B. 265)" with which he signed up. I also have his "Statement of the Services" with which he was discharged. Is there anything else in writing about him which might exist and where might this be? As you are aware I am particularly interested in next of kin information.

With my very best wishes

Frank,

Can I ask how many pages this information covers and what is the name and number of your gf please?

Hi djb

Thank you for your interest.

The two documents I have are both single pages. My grandfather's name is George Christopher Waldron. His service number is 15213. He was a trooper in the 8th battalion of the 74th (Dublin) Company.

I look forward to hearing from you.

With my very best wishes

Frank,

There are 4 pages of his service record and 2 pages of his discharge papers available either from the National Archives or at cost from FindMyPast.

Frustratingly, the section for his NOK is blank.

He does give his address after discharge as 18 Moyne Road, Rathmines, Dublin, in case that helps.
