Just picked up this postcard featuring the Boer War Memorial in Cannon Hill Park in Birmingham.
Thought I would share with the forum.
Possibly pre-dates WW1.
One of my KIAs, Pte. John Rowley of the Worcesters Mounted Infantry is commemorated on this one.

Steve - do you have a photo of the panel bearing the name Lance-corporal T R Pursall. Although he was born in Birmingham he qualifies as a Smethwickian as he was raised there and went to school there - see my recent post "Uplands Cemetery, Smethwick". I think I need to go through the other 520 names on this memorial as some others must also qualify as Smethwickians especially as I feel I amlight on Smethwickians who died. Many thanks, David.
