thanks for all the info David. I now know most of what you state above but I am somewhat unsure about Thomas as there is conflicting documentation. Hopefully further medals will become available in the future.
John was shot through the mouth and was operated on by a royal surgeon in Sofia. The Queen of Bulgaria visited him in hospital to compliment him on his bravery, but ultimately he died of this injury in 1939, according to the death certificate
