IS TerBlanche was definitely sent to Trichinopoly – India on the Ship Taqus. After the war he returned to Durban on the Ship Englishman. The Notes that I have are written in Afrikaans and is some 13 pages long summarizing his experiences. Gustav Preller was according to this document also at Trichinopoly in India.
The Afrikaans word "Onbekend" definitely means unknown and I believe he was listed as a POW with insufficient records showing which camp he was sent to, thus Unknown. He apparently travelled by train from Madras to Trichinopoly. I thank you all for the valuable info to date. Alan Exton

Not sure if this helps.
"Ladysmith" in the remarks column suggests that he was received at "Tin Town" camp, Ladysmith, on 16 Jan 1902, and held there for about three weeks before being transported to India.

The Tagus left Port Natal for Mauritius and Madras on 11 Feb 1902.
