I had a photograph of his grave in South Africa but I will be damned if I can find it...... They were sent to me and I made some prints but cannot find it but here is the design of the Canadian Headstones...... Different from the WW1 / 2 versions.....

Hi,

I was also able to locate an entry for 213 Pte. William Peter Kenneth Milligan in, 'In Memoriam' by S. Watt, who is listed as killed in action on the 31st March 1902 and the place of death is noted as Boschbult and he is interred at Ottosdal.

I was able to find an image online of the final resting place for Pte. Milligan who is interred at Ottosdal Garden of Remembrance, South Africa. From Mike's post, I wonder if this is the image of the headstone that he was talking about. See Below -

Also noted on Find a Grave for the above entry was an image of a Memorial Plaque for Pte. William P. K. Milligan and others who are remembered at Victoria Hall (Town Hall) in Cobourg, Ontario. Better images and further information are available from the links provided above by ResearchRescue.

Also attached, is the Campaign Medal and Award Roll (WO100/287) from Ancestry for the 2nd Regiment Canadian Mounted Rifles, which was signed off on 31st December 1902 at Winnipeg, Manitoba in Canada, see below. With his QSA medal, he is also entitled to the Transvaal and South Africa 1902 clasps.

Another snippet of info ref WPK Milligan.
Personal effects register details for him and his comrades K I A or died of their wounds at Boschbult.
You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.
Best regards,
Dave
