Many thanks to Berenice for posting the link to the LSH video.
TonyM, thank you for producing a most informative and enjoyable visual history of the regiment. We definitely need more of this type of production to help people to form an interest in a largely little known conflict amongst most of the UK population.
Cheers Steve

I would like to echo Mike’s comments. I found it brilliant for content and production quality. Extremely informative and not just regarding Strathcona’s Horse but also the general overview of the War which has straightened out a few things in my mind. Always had great respect for the Canadians as soldiers ever since I visited Vimy Ridge in my early teens. Also, nice to get a glimpse of a Smethwickian on the Standerton Memorial – Private 5489 George William Seaton of the 1st Battalion South Staffordshire Regiment – died of enteric fever 21st April 1902 at Standerton. Just worked out his father, William, worked at the Birmingham Railway Carriage & Wagon Co. Ltd which, despite its name, was in Smethwick. So, William probably also contributed to the war effort and may have had a hand in building the coaches for the Princess Christian Hospital Train.
