Hello again! What was the role / responsibilities of a bandsman? Where might I find the papers from 1893-1896, I have not come across them. Thanks!

I have a record from "Findmypast" that shows he joined the Highland Light Infantry August 17, 1889.
I assumed that you have his service papers

His service history, such as it is, is on page 3
Where he served with dates is detailed at top of p.4
