Reference your Grandfather's WW1 Service.
If you subscribe to Ancestry ? There is shed full of paperwork pertaining to George.

Hi Annette
I know this is a long shot, but I came across this.

The image below is the formentioned Company . Could one of those fine fellows be your Grandfather?

Annette - As Dave F reported a lot of WW1 military paperwork to be found on Ancestry. The medal rolls Dave posted can also be found on Ancestry - select Military Search, for QSA enter G (not George) Russell and 1158 in Keyword box. For KSA there has been an understandable transcription error and you will need to enter his initial as J.

Also there is a Public Family Tree on Ancestry that might interest you if you are not already aware of it. Created by a Scott Hartum who is a great-grandson of your GF, and a grandson of his son Stewart. You can send Scott a message via Ancestry but as Scott has not logged in to Ancestry for over a year you may not get a reply. He has a photo of your grandparents attached to his FT which was supplied to him by somebody called Jacky Porter.

Regards, David.
