Sorry for the delayed response, been away for some weeks with work.
As per the original post: Edward King, DoB:1876, attestation 3 Dec 1895, service no: 1378 and what P-C added below. He later served in the ASCin the WW1 (SN: T/344140). Married to Sarah Jane by 192.
It's the regular RGA unit he joined in SA that I cannot find. He allegedly spent some time in India as well and reached the rank of Sgt Major.
