The medals might date from World War I and the unit might be '4th SA Infantry' or 4th SA Horse'.

The information you require, medal cards and any service file etc, is in the SADF Documentation Center, Pretoria, South Africa, the 4th Mounted Rifles was formed from the Umvoti Mounted Rifles and served in GWSA with the 8th Mounted Brigade, the 11th Infantry was raised from the Rand Light Infantry in the Transvaal and served in GWSA.
Actually, I think there was another 11th South African Infantry in the 3rd SA Infantry Brigade, but, they were recruited in Natal for service in German East Africa later on.
