I can only hope that with time and experience, I will be able to navigate the search for imformation half as well as you are able!
I hope I don`t seem too much of a know nothing, but as a Canadian new to the site and Boer War researching, can you confirm that TNA refers to The National Archives, and that FMP refers to??? Possibly a follow up at FMP might yield further information here.

I quite forgot to add, as he was serving in the Militia in 1894, I would expect to find papers in WO96 at the TNA, most, though not all, are available on FMP too.
