Hello Jon, welcome to this forum,
I'm with you on collecting and have been interested in the SAMIF since I was a small boy!
What are your favourite units?
Kind regards Frank

Thanks Frank for the welcome, it all started 23 years ago on my honeymoon with my first medal brought from Frank Marsh of the Military shop in Birmingham, my wifes gran mother lived one bus stop away from his shop. It was a QSA to Southern Rhodesia Volunteers with Rhod & RoM clasps.Over the years she would make an annual visit to South Africa and bring the medals that I had brought the previous year.Over the years I have brought a wide variety of medals, rather buying quality over quantity and concentrating on Relief bars, and the only clasp not represented in my collection is the DoM.It has branched out to WW1 and WW2 SA groups as well. No particular favourite regiment but do tend towards mounted SA Units with a strong Natal influence, There are many other oddities which I hope to share some of these medals on this forum.

Hello again,
Then we have much in common, I like all things Rhodesia and Natal in particular, you should speak to Brett Hendey, he is "our man in Natal"
Kind regards Frank
