Hello Phil

This file in the SA Archive may help:

DEPOT KAB
SOURCE PWD
TYPE LEER
VOLUME_NO 2/11/48
SYSTEM 01
REFERENCE 381
PART 1
DESCRIPTION ANGLO BOER WAR. MR. CLEEVE EDWARDS: APPLICATION FOR COMPENSATION FOR
ARTICLES LOOTED AND REFUND OF RAILWAY FARES.
STARTING 1899
ENDING 1900
REMARKS REFERENCE: FOLIO 9422.

He would appear to have been in the Transvaal or perhaps Dundee/Newcastle to have had his property looted. His application may well state what he did in the war.

Nice medal.

Regards
Meurig

Thanks chaps.

Meurig, how easy is it to obtain files from SA Archives remotely? I have tended to use Audrey Portman in the past, but perhaps I can just go direct to the Archive for this one?

Cheers

Phil

Let me see how my week pans out. The archive is 15 mins from me so should not be too much of a hassle to pick it up.
Looking for Salutries, Salootries and Veterinary Duffadars.
I collect primarily QSAs to Indian Recipients.
