Hi all

I have a group on its way to me from the UK which coomprises a 93 Coy, Imperial Yeomanry QSA as well as the chaps 2 WWI medals and SWB. With the lot comes this badge see below.

Please could someone tell me what it is? I see that the 93rd were "Mounted Sharpshooters" would this fit with the SS on the badge?

Regards

Rory

BBM shows 93rd Coy as "3 Sharpshooters" under County. Part of 23bn, IY with 120 members in original contingent.
Looks like a nice acquisition.

No, I cannot. However, I have seen a number of such badges over the years and they were all as shown on your first post. I have had the impression that Sharpshooter Coy.s of the IY would have worn them; perhaps in conjunction with something identifying the Coy. Having the rosette is a real bonus.

Thank you again

I think the preponderence of evidence rests with it being to the 93rd Coy.

Good Morning Rory......

Just for some more info, it's in Kipling & King Volume 1, No 1401, and was the 18th Battalion.

It was worn on a red & blue rosette. (There is a dealer on ebay that makes these.)
