Hi David,

I've not heard that name before but looked it up and it certainly looks like it could be a fit. If so that possibly points to SA again.

Cheerio,

Roy

David and I came to the same conclusion. The dassie is a hyrax, so that is two votes for an African origin for the badge, although I am not really convinced.

Since the little critters sit on rocky out crops on the hill outside my house, I think "serenus sed vigilans" might be appropriate.

Thanks guys,

Interesting observation and comment David. As much as we are clutching at straws this seems feasible, just nothing definitive as yet. I still feel it might be something to do with a school or cadets, it's only a guess but that's all I've got at the moment.

If this doesn't get solved soon gents, just keep it in the back of your mind, who knows something may surface at some point

Cheers,

Roy
