There are several Martinis for sale (UK) in the sealed bid sale at Holts.
I am not bidding on anything and happy to advise by PM if anyone wanted guidance.

The past is not dead. In fact, it's not even past.

I am doing some research for a local museum, and I forgot what the jackets of Boer 7x57 Mauser bullets were made of. Was it steel, or iron?
Thank you.

7mm Mauser projectiles had lead cores and steel jackets.

I recently bought another relic condition Martini Henry. The stock has of course rotten away as this weapon was most likely left someone in the veld. The barrel has a slight curve to the left and up, and the lever is also completely bent out of shape. This was obvious done by British forces in order to render the rifle inoperable. I understand that this might fall outside of the scope of many of the members on the forum, but it has markings not seen military Martinis. The rifle also is of higher qaulity with a nicer finish. I have added photos of the markings. The S.A.P and E.L.G markings are found on the knoxform, and the strange flower/leaf is seen on the top of the breech block and on the knoxform. Can anybody tell what manufacturer produced this rifle?

The first flower/leaf/fan is incorrect. I have added it's corrected version with photos of the rifle, which is of course deactivated.
