I have seen enough medals to realise that I am no expert in giving the OK or the kiss of death to a medal naming. My sense is that BSA Co. medals were often named up rather crudely , and as a result , you need to get some solid provenance before you buy. We are always worried that we are going to innocently buy a "Lovett Special ". I think that if you are offered a medal to say, a Nun or a KIA, then you need to be extra careful, as this is the sort of thing that was replicated. Medals to unexceptional "spear carriers "should be ok.
As Rob said, Ashwin was a Jameson Raider, so the need for care is extra important.
