Thanks for the call just now. I have had a look at this again and I must say that I have led myself up the "garden path" here.

I have confused the second Christian name, the CP man is Arthur Herbert Wade and not Arthur Henry Wade

Sorry about that.You have a superb medal there to a prominent member of the Standerton community, a great find.

Two men wear the 1897 Presidential Election medal, issued to supporters of President Kruger (Hern 2008, p. 12,, No. 38). Reverse with pencil inscription: "Boers of the Standerton Commando".
