Described as: 'Samuel Nettle of the Bechuanaland Rifles is confirmed on the medal rolls; he is additionally entitled to the King’s South Africa medal with 2 clasps. M&E say 'James Henry Edward May of the Bechuanaland Rifles is confirmed on the medal roll and served during the Second Anglo-Boer War. Recalled to service in the Great War, he saw action in German South West Africa with the 7th S.A.I., and was later twice wounded in action in France while serving with the South African Service Corps.'
