Thanks, Brett,
Never seen one of these before. Certainly a lot of very valuable individual information there.

Any idea if his mother's name was Hannah? If so I have a little on the family from census records.

Cheers,

Mark

Hi Mark

Robert Hope, T W's father, was first married to Hannah Wilkinson and she must have been T W's mother. Robert's Death Notice records that Hannah died in February 1895. His second wife was Sarah Jacoba Wilkie, which I presume must be a link to your family.

I would be very grateful for any information you have on Robert Hope and his wives.

Regards
Brett

Lol ! Brett, the last thing I imagined was a Wilkie would pop out of the woodwork in this one. I guess Robert must have had something for the descendant-daughters of Wilk. As far as I know Sarah Jacoba Wilkie wasn't a family connection.

In a nutshell here's what I have on the Hopes:
Robert Hope born 1855 in Broom Hill, Northumberland, England.
Occupation: Coal Miner.
Residence 1881: 73 Pine St, Gateshead, Durham, England.
Wife: Hannah Wilkinson born 1857 in Wylam, Northumberland, England.
Daughter of Thomas [born 1832 in Wylam] and Mary Wilkinson [born 1838 in Houghton-le-Spring, Durham].

Children: Thomas William born 1879 in Haswell, Durham, England.

I'll e-mail you the records.

Cheers,

Mark

Many thanks for the information on Robert Hope.

I am disappointed that Sarah Jacoba Wilkie was not a twig on your family tree. I had hoped (no pun intended) there was a link and that the Hope biographies would benefit from an influx of information from your own well researched family history.
