Here is a nice example from the next DNW auction

QSA (8) Natal, Belmont, Modder River, Relief of Kimberley, Paardeberg, Johannesburg, Diamond Hill, Wittebergen (4278 Pte. W. H. Broom, 9/Lcrs.). Entitled to KSA (2). The catalogue listing notes 'some unofficial rivets'.

Hi

Another man that saw a lot of action!

William Rimington (incorrectly spelt as Remington on the Nominal Roll, the QSA Roll and the QSA) attested as a Trooper (No number) in Rimington's Guides on 13 Nov 1899 and was discharged on 31 January 1901. He re-attested in the re-named Damant's Horse as Sjt with regimental number 34900 on 6 June 1901 and was finally discharged on 23 December 1901. If this discharge had taken place 9 days later he would have earned an 8-bar QSA and a 2-bar KSA!.

Now that is what I call a medal Henk! Some serious clasps to that one of that there is no doubt.

I think you must have one of the most splendid, and varied, collections of medals on the planet. You keep rolling out the gems in response to each topic presented.

Very well done Sir.

Regards

Rory
