QSA (2) Cape Colony, Relief of Ladysmith (6929 Pte. A. Maynard, K.R.R.C.)

A. Maynard attested into the King’s Royal Rifle Corps and served in South Africa with the 3rd Battalion during the Boer War. He was killed in action at Spion Kop on 24 January 1900.

Ronald Binnie born Wood Green, Middlesex, residence Forest Gate, Essex, enlisted Barnett. Died of wounds 28.10.1914, France and Flanders, commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.

Aubreys say only 147 Samaliland and 105 Jadballi clasps awarded to the 4th K.R.R.C.
