Hi Guys, Having sorted Gt Grandads medals I decided to see if I could collect all the clasps on original QSA medals. This is a great way to learn more about the Boer War and enjoying the chase.

Have the opportunity to pick up a QSA impressed 3190 Pte D Covey, 2nd D. of C. Lt INFy. I Cannot find this person on this list so I wondering how I confirm this is an original medal and confirm the clasps?

Thanks Stephen

Hello Stephen,

He is confirmed on page 354 of the 2nd Batt Duke of Cornwall LI QSA roll as having been awarded the Cape Colony, Paardeburg, Driefontein and Johannesburg clasps to his QSA. There are no remarks under "remarks"

He is also confirmed on page 131 of the KSA roll as having the KSA with both date clasps.

If you PM me an email address I shall email you both pages.

Cheers

Thats a great aim Stephen. Please let us know how you get on.

Some collectors see if they can acquire all 26 clasps in as few medals as possible.

Kind regards
David

Thanks Adrian, Unfortunately it appears the KSA has been separated from the QSA but the clasps certainly match. Heading in the right direction here. Will PM. Cheers S

Will do. Six down and only 20 to go putting aside the unofficial clasps. Really looking forward to putting it together. Will aim for some sort of connection between medals but have not landed that position yet. Keep you posted.

I don't know how "flush" you are but the Defence of Mafeking clasp could set you back quite a bit of money.....!!

Good luck nevertheless.

Rory
