Hi Rory
A general count of Trophy vs Edw DCM's from my collection
Trophy of Arms . I still have 21 and over the years disposed of 11 : Total 32
Edw VII. I still have 26 and disposed of 9 : Total 35
I will at a later stage go through the trays and note the figures and dates of issue of the DCM's to local units.

When are you going to start posting these groups Henk? They would be a joy for the eye to behold.

Hi Rory
I will show some in due course. Writing up etc takes time and with all the other things I am busy on I probably need 6 more hours in the day!
A quick check shows 12 Edw VII DCM's to local units vs 5 Trophy of Arms. No pattern : the TofA DCM to Rowland of the Bechuanaland Rifles was for Kleinfontein, 24 October 1901, some 9 months after Victoria died!

As with LSGCs at this period there is no real pattern (yet) to whether a Victoria or Edward obverse was issued - "next out the box".

My count of all ABW DCMs:

135 - VR (inlcudes 3 for which the DCM was awarded prior to the ABW and the man won a bar in the war)
143 - EVII
