Attached a photo of my latest acquisition - a group to Thomas William Franklin of the 7th Hussars (Rhodesia and Boer War) and a Rough Rider with the ASC in WWI.

Very nice indeed, Rory,
Certainly very sought after medals, I wonder why he decided to leave the wretched Old Canaries, perhaps he got fed up with polishing his Albert?
I would not blame him, at least, he wouldn't have needed to do that with a Busby.
Much time and effort saved!:)
Regards Frank

Hello Rory

Are you aware that there are two BSAC medals to Franklin on the market?

See DNW's auction of September 2009.

I think the QSA maybe a replacement. I had a long chat with a guy on the Facebook British Medals group who was selling the group and he sent some pictures of the naming.

Yes Meurig if You know my modus operandi at all you will know that I would have researched the group thoroughly before deciding to buy it.

This was the case with Franklin. The replacement BSAC medal wad officially noted on the medal roll when issued in 1936. There was also full disclosure by the seller.

Regards

Rory

I wonder if he had lost his originals or had them stolen, the replacements are certainly noted in WO77 and WO100.
