I am in the process of buying this medal-2 clasps Tugela Heights and Relief of Ladysmith. I have found his name on a big memorial that appears to be in York Minister.

I was wondering if his name is on any memorials in South Africa- members of this forum have demonstrated they are experts in finding these things.

There were only 3 members of the battalion killed on the 27th of February 1900 and they were 1750 Sgt W. Poplar, 3544 Pte J. Freele and my man 2105 Pte C.Fallon.

According to the book 'In Memoriam' by Steve Watt, all three men were interred at Tugela Heights in the Railway Hill Cemetery.
