This pendant commemorates H.M.S. Thrush's service during the period 1899-1903, and her involvement in operations associated with the Transvaal, Ashantee, Gambia, the Cape and Central West Africa.

With Birmingham hallmarks for 1901, which seems odd, given the period covered in the legend. Maker's mark: "R.C" into an oval (for Robert Chandler).
