Coincidentally, Bonhams sold a nice group to William Watkin Alexander, French's Scouts, today:

QSA (3) RoK Paard Drief (Scout W.W.Alexander. French’s Scts.);
KSA (2) (Scout W.W.Alexander. F.I.D.);
1914-15 Star (Lt. W.W.Alexander Brands F.S Fls.);
BWM and bilingual VM (Lt.W.W.Alexander.)

He served FID 1 Feb 1901 to 30 June 1902.

Trooper Arthur Milbourne Lowe confirmed on nominal roll of French's Scouts.

Arthur Milbourne Lowe, electrician, age 35, born at Sydney, NSW, Australia; WWI: Enl.25 Sep 1916 at Show Ground Camp Sydney, NSW, with previous service of 2 1/2 years with General French's Staff Scouts in South Africa; Emb. 22 Dec 1916 as a M.T. Driver with 2 Aux Mech. Trans. Coy; RTA 23 Mar 1919; Disch. 22 Feb 920.

H. Laishley was posted Prisoner of War - released near Bethesda Road on 10 August 1901.

Laishley later served as a Trooper (No. 40817) in the Canadian Scouts and with the South African Constabulary from 30 June 1902-29 June 1905.

Another result of recent cataloguing is the following -
QSA to Tpr. 10003 Tpr. H.L.Taylor. French's Scouts. Clasps Cape Colony, OFS, Johannesburg, Diamond Hill, Belfast and SA1901. Naming helpfully emphasised with white filler by a previous owner.


As Tpr. Harry Louis Taylor, he served with French's Scouts between 28/4/1900 and 6/5/1901 with all clasps confirmed.
A quite small unit judging by the size of the nominal roll, Tpr. Taylor's medal apparently differs little alongside the others shown in this thread.
However, searching WO100/247 a little farther, page 142 shows him as "Scout".
