761 DAVIS, F. (Frank)

REG. NO.: 3694
RANK: PRIVATE
REGT: ROYAL INNISKILLING FUSILIERS, 1st BATTALION
BARS: CAPE COLONY, TUGELA HEIGHTS, RELIEF OF LADYSMITH

REMARKS / HISTORY:
1. IMPERIAL SERVICE MEDAL, GEORGE V, NAMED FRANK DAVIS COMPLETE WITH ORIGINAL CASE. (Post Office)
2. WOUNDED INNISKILLING HILL, FEBRUARY 23rd, 1900, SENT HOME.

Mike

Mike - According to FMP he was MID. No service papers appear to have survived.

He may also have been invalided to pension. There is a file on a Frank Davis in the PIN 71 series at the NA under reference 71/2250. Enlisted 1891. Died 1927. With such a fairly common name he may or may not be your man. The NA is of course closed until further notice and the PIN 71 series isn't available online. When it re-opens it might be worth getting a researcher to check it out and if so copy the file for you.

Regards

David

Good Morning Doug.....

It is exactly the way that I bought it in 1984. The wings is a 1911 Coronation pin..... That his the way he had it fixed to the box..... Looks like he never wore either one of them….

Doug,

There is a thread for the Inniskillings so it would be great if you could reply to that thread so that we can build a record of Inniskilling medals in one place.
