Hi

These have been passed down to me... could somebody tell me something about them?

Writing on the round medal's rim states "VELDKORNET A.H. DU PREEZ".

On the back of the squarish one is a number 4079, and a small stamp stating SAM.

Hello

You have a Anglo Boere Oorlog Medalje for service by members of the Transvaal and Free State forces against the British, however it has the ribbon for the WW1 Victory medal which is wrong. The numbered brooch is a miniature version of the WW2 Memorial Plaque as issued to next of kin. It looks like there are quite a few medals missing

Made me jump for a moment I know that I had a medal in my collection named to a DU PREEZ but I could not remember if it was Boer or British...…

Turns out to be British...… Is the name DU PREEZ common in South Africa.....

Grimstoner,

Can you tell me his forenames please?

If you contact Dewald Nel (via contacts in the top menu), he will be able to supply you with the document(s) he completed when applying for his medal. There is a cost for this. This will give you some information about his service.

Good luck!
David
