Very interesting articles, thank you.
As one theme was medals l thought l would investigate these and delighted to see what further information came to light,
Courtesy of the Museum of the Manchester Museum, The Man Behind The Medals … quite a life of service and six medals, including a DSO.
Henry Charles WebbTheobald 1876-1952, dangerously wounded in action at Hartenbosch, transferred to the Manchester Regiment July1901, served in the First WW, wounded in his first action at the Battle of Le Cateau, Home Guard WWII, even active as a pensioner.

Post WWII. Attended many reunions of the survivors of the Siege of Ladysmith , but not well enough to attend the 50th Ladysmith reunion in 1950,

Unmarried, no children, good to see his medals in a safe place.
