During my research on my book(s) about the South African Constabulary, I came across Glasock's name as a member of the 1902 South African Constabulary Coronation Contingent. In the write-up of his medals in the Ashcroft collection as well as from other available sources, there is no mention of Glasock ever having served in the South African Constabulary. As a member of the Coronation Contingent, Glasock was awarded the King Edward VII Coronation Medal. In addition, Glasock's recommendation for his King's South Africa Medal was submitted by the E Division Headquarters of the South African Constabulary that was based in Bloemfontein.

From 8 March 1901 until 31 May 1902, Glasock had served with the rank of Third Class Trooper in E Division of the South African Constabulary with force number E1029. On 11 June 1900, according to the South African Field Force Casualty Roll, Glasock was wounded at Diamond Hill. On 21 August 1900, as a result of this wound, Glasock was invalided back to England. I have requested Glasock's South African Constabulary file from Dewald Nel which should shed more light on Glasock's South African Constabulary service. Does any member perhaps have more details regarding Glasock's service after Sanna's Post and his wound at Diamond Hill with Q Battery and his subsequent South African Constabulary career?

This article in the Westminster Gazette of 10th September 1900 reported he was wounded in the knee at Diamond Hill. However, they have misreported his battery in the RHA but I think somebody misread a "Q" for a "G" and the report on the nature of his wound is probably accurate.

Besides the notice and article below, as far as I can tell all the other newspaper articles mentioning him during the Boer War are regarding his "winning" of the VC.

Morning Leader 24 January 1901
